Meatloaf

This is one of my kids favorite meals.  Meatloaf.  Basic, everyday, normal, run-of-the-mill meatloaf.  I have even made it for family birthday meals as requested by Hogan.  It's so easy and don't be afraid to get in there and mix up the meat with your hands.  It mixes up much better with your hands than a spoon.  I like to push the middle down a little bit after I get it all smoothed out once it's in the casserole dish.  Since the edges tend to shrink it comes out a bit more even if the middle is 'dented'.

Meatloaf

Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon dry ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 large egg
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
ketchup

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350.  Mix all ingredients except ketchup and spread mixture into a 8x8 or 9x9 pan or meatloaf pan.  Pour ketchup over top and spread evening with a spoon.  Bake uncovered 1 to 1 1/4 hours until thermometer reads 160.  Let stand 5 minutes then serve.
